Getting Around

Airport Access from Steele Creek

Close to the airport is not the same as close to the terminal — and proximity can come with noise.

The starting point matters

Steele Creek wraps around the south and southwest side of airport property. The airport's boundary is not the passenger terminal; terminal access roads, parking decks, rental car and pickup areas all add time. Measure from your street to the place you actually need to be.

Traffic and construction

Airport road and terminal construction can change routes. Check the airport's official site and NCDOT before relying on a route.

Aircraft noise

Living near a major airport can involve aircraft noise. Exposure depends on location, runway use, weather and flight operations. We do not describe any home as quiet or outside flight paths without property-specific evidence. Review Charlotte Douglas's official noise resources and visit at different times of day.
