New Construction
New Construction Checklist
Base price is the start of the number. Here is everything that gets added to it.

Know what you are buying
- Move-in-ready — complete, with a certificate of occupancy.
- Under construction — started, with a target (not guaranteed) completion date.
- To-be-built — a plan on a lot, not yet started.
- Proposed community — approvals and phases may still change.
- Sold-out phase — inventory may only be available through resale.
Contract checklist
- 01Research the builder's track record and warranty claims process.

- 03Separate base price, lot premium, structural options and design selections.
- 04Read the conditions on any incentive, including lender requirements.
- 05Understand deposit amounts, refundability and escalation clauses.
- 06Get written language on estimated completion and remedies for delay.
- 07Order independent inspections at pre-drywall and final stages.
